THE YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS CARD!

This year our friends over at The Yorkshire Air Ambulance asked Bog Books Ltd if we would design their official Christmas Card and obviously we said 'YES! W'ed love to!'. We were very flattered and straight away went about producing a fantastic card for them.

Tim produced a fantastic illustration and Gary & Cheryl-ann designed the card and we were very happy with the final result and so were the YAA! Over the past year we have been helping raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity with donations from the profits from "Yorkshire Pudding 'n' All That Tripe" and the Bog Books 'Map of Yorkshire'. With the book being all about Yorkshire what better place to donate to than the YAA, they do a marvellous job.

So with the new Christmas card illustrated and designed by the Bog Books team all profits go straight to the charity. Each pack of 10 cards costs £5 and you can buy them directly from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity www.yaa.org.uk or us here at Bog Books Ltd.

This week we have delivered the second order of 5000 Christmas cards to Abby at The Yorkshire Air Ambulance as the first batch were such a massive hit and have sold out after only a few weeks!!

You can call 01751 475 002 or email Sarah on sales@bogbooksltd.co.uk for more information about the cards.

Here's Gary and Cheryl-ann (plus sleepy cat Delilah) folding and packing some of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Christmas Cards with a mug of mulled wine and in front of a lovely log fire hidden away from the recent blizzards!! Tim and Sarah did a great job folding and bagging their half too!!

RECENT HAPPENINGS - PICKERING WAR WEEKEND 2010

The past few months have been really busy for us here at Bog Books HQ, we have been attending lots of lovely fairs and events and there's a few more to come in the run up to Christmas.

October saw the Bog Books team mark the anniversary of the launch of “Yorkshire Pudding ‘n’ All That Tripe” by joining 'The Resistance' at “Le Visham” Station during the annual Pickering War Weekend!

The station at Levisham gets turned into a 1940’s German occupied French Village complete with parading soldiers and an authentic French Onion Soup tent!

The 2009 War Weekend in Pickering saw the very successful launch of our first book and we had such great fun showing everyone we thought why not bring some of that humour back again this year but this time in the beautiful setting of Levisham Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway? Even though it rained a bit, we still enjoyed ourselves!

To compliment the book there are now a range of gift cards for all occasions, watercolour prints, personalised maps of Yorkshire and now our most recent addition to the Bog Book range is a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle adapted from the Yorkshire Map found in the back of the book. We launched this new product at the War Weekend which was pretty exciting and sold out of our first batch straight away so had to place a re-order pretty sharpish!

The puzzles are now available directly from our website www.bogbooksltd.co.uk so order in time for Christmas. You can also order by calling us on 01751 475 002 or email Sarah on sales@bogbooksltd.co.uk for more information.

HELICOPTER HEROES IS BACK!

Helicopter Heroes is back for a 20 part series on BBC One every weekday at 9.30am from Monday 6th September 2010 to Friday 1st October 2010 presented by Rav Wilding.

The programme is in it's fourth series now and shows first hand the amazing work the guys at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance do 365 Days of the year. Helicopter Heroes follows the work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance Helicopter on their life-and-death rescues across Yorkshire.

If you have missed any of the series then don't worry you can watch programmes again on the BBC iPlayer

Please visit the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity website to find out more information about the sterling work they do and if you can, make a donation that would be blooming marvellous! Not many people realise that they are in fact a Charity and solely rely on money raised to operate so they need all the support you can give.

"The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. We fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations.

To keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £7200 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air. The generosity that we receive is the life blood of the charity and with out this generosity, we would not be able to provide the service that we are so proud of."

BOG BOOKS VISIT TO YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE HEADQUARTERS

This week the Bog Books Team made a trip over to the new Headquarters for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity at Cayley House, Elland to have a chat with Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Abby McClymont.

What a beautiful drive into the valley where the HQ is situated. The old mill has been restored and modernised subtly and the YAA seem very happy to be there in their new home. One of the first things Abby pointed out to us as we walked through the front door was right above our heads on the ceiling right above the stairwell. A really striking photograph printed onto the tiles above depicting the Air Ambulance in flight, very cool! Fantastic photography adorns the corridoor walls and that of the main meeting room really give a great sense of vibrancy and scale of what they do in the air space of Yorkshire...superb!

Abby and the YAA have been staunch supporters of Bog Books since our launch almost a year ago and many new ideas were discussed so that we could work together to raise even more money for the charity.

One such idea was a Tim Bulmer illustrated and Bog Books designed Christmas card for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity. We are currently in production of said card and are really excited about launching it very soon.

Over the next few months leading up to Christmas Bog Books are attending a range of Christmas fairs, details of which will appear here shortly so we hope to see you all there!

MALTON SHOW 2010

Hey there Bog Bookers! We had a great day out at the Malton Show on Sunday 18th July even if it did get a little hot in the marquee at times!

We got to show off our new banner (photo abouve taken on Gary's iPhone with arty farty effect!) and talk to lots of interesting people who had come to the show.

Gary had a bit of a walkabout in the afternoon to see what was going on and was loving the Alapaca's he found. They are such cute and funny looking things...they kind of look like they have an '80's perm and wolly troousers on, hilarious!

We are next going to be at the Rydale Show on Tuesday 27th July in Kirkbymoorside so come along and have a look at all the Bog Books bits and bobs we have on offer...see you there!

(MOUNTAIN BIKE) WORLD CUP FEVER!

So there's a lot happening in Yorkshire this weekend and Bog Books are in the thick of it as usual! The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup event being held at Dalby Forest from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th April is where it's at this weekend! So to commemortate the event Tim Bulmer has penned a special Dalby Forest illustration (above) which has been reproduced as a limited edition giclee print which will be on sale over the weekend along with a range of other Bulmer illustrated Bog Books work.

With the Moutnain Bike World Cup it being a huge Yorkshire event we thought it would be a great opportunity to celebrate all things Yorkshire by doing a book signing for "Yorkshire Pudding 'n' All That Tripe" at Dalby this weekend, so come along and get your signed copy of the book and have a look at the selection of giclee prints we have on offer.

HAPPY YORKSHIRE PUDDING DAY!

With Valentines day coming up, us lot at Bog Books thought we'd spread the love for Yorkshire Pudding Day at Hovingham Market and had a great time!

The day started early with Sarah baking her little heart out to make a trayful of mini Yorkshire Puddings which not only looked amazing but were soooooooo tasty! We offered them to everybody who stopped to talk to us and look at the book and they went down a storm. Sarah filled the mini puds with sliced beef and horseradish and pastrami and mayo...mmm!

It was a successful day all round and we enjoyed ourselves again and raised some more cash for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance through sales of "Yorkshire Pudding 'n' All That Tripe" and prints from the book.
