HELICOPTER HEROES IS BACK!

Helicopter Heroes is back for a 20 part series on BBC One every weekday at 9.30am from Monday 6th September 2010 to Friday 1st October 2010 presented by Rav Wilding.

The programme is in it's fourth series now and shows first hand the amazing work the guys at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance do 365 Days of the year. Helicopter Heroes follows the work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance Helicopter on their life-and-death rescues across Yorkshire.

If you have missed any of the series then don't worry you can watch programmes again on the BBC iPlayer

Please visit the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity website to find out more information about the sterling work they do and if you can, make a donation that would be blooming marvellous! Not many people realise that they are in fact a Charity and solely rely on money raised to operate so they need all the support you can give.

"The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. We fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations.

To keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £7200 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air. The generosity that we receive is the life blood of the charity and with out this generosity, we would not be able to provide the service that we are so proud of."

BOG BOOKS VISIT TO YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE HEADQUARTERS

This week the Bog Books Team made a trip over to the new Headquarters for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity at Cayley House, Elland to have a chat with Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Abby McClymont.

What a beautiful drive into the valley where the HQ is situated. The old mill has been restored and modernised subtly and the YAA seem very happy to be there in their new home. One of the first things Abby pointed out to us as we walked through the front door was right above our heads on the ceiling right above the stairwell. A really striking photograph printed onto the tiles above depicting the Air Ambulance in flight, very cool! Fantastic photography adorns the corridoor walls and that of the main meeting room really give a great sense of vibrancy and scale of what they do in the air space of Yorkshire...superb!

Abby and the YAA have been staunch supporters of Bog Books since our launch almost a year ago and many new ideas were discussed so that we could work together to raise even more money for the charity.

One such idea was a Tim Bulmer illustrated and Bog Books designed Christmas card for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity. We are currently in production of said card and are really excited about launching it very soon.

Over the next few months leading up to Christmas Bog Books are attending a range of Christmas fairs, details of which will appear here shortly so we hope to see you all there!
